This is a traffic advisory from the Highland Park Police Department. On Sunday, June 19^th, there will be a Juneteenth remembrance event taking place in front of the Highland Park High School (102 North Fifth Avenue). The event is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. and last until approximately 2:30 p.m. As a result of this event, North Fifth Avenue will be closed to traffic from Montgomery Street to Abbott Street. Thru traffic will be detoured onto Denison Street and Abbott Street. Patrons of the Highland Park Library will still be able to access the library’s parking lot.

Due to the event, there will be a parking restriction in effect on North Fifth Avenue from Montgomery Street to Abbott Street from 9:30 a.m. until the conclusion of the event. Please moved any parked vehicles in the impacted area prior to that time.

If you’re attending the event, you may park in any legal space along the nearby roads. If you’re not attending the event, it is suggested that you avoid the area due to the traffic congestion that will be created.
