Red Flag Warning until 09:00PM Friday
The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for thunderstorms, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM MDT Friday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 203 Lower Colorado River, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 292 North Fork Forecast Area. In Utah, Fire Weather Zone 491 Southeast Utah.
* IMPACTS...Dry lightning will likely cause fire starts in the afternoon and evening hours. Many if not all of the storms will bring a threat of gusty outflow winds.
* THUNDERSTORMS...Will form early in the afternoon and continue through the evening hours. The biggest threat will occur late afternoon through the early evening hours.
* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty and variable winds of 40 to 50 mph are possible from any convection that forms.
* AFFECTED AREAS: LOWER COLORADO RIVER ... SOUTHWEST COLORADO LOWER FORECAST AREA ... PARADOX VALLEY ... NORTH FORK ... SOUTHEAST UTAH
