Narrative:

The Camarillo Police Department would like to remind the community to be safe during coming July 4th celebrations.  Recent high temperatures and drought conditions make the illegal use of fireworks even more dangerous this year.  All fireworks, including safe and sane fireworks, are illegal in the City of Camarillo.  The safest way to enjoy fireworks on July 4th is to attend one of the many fireworks displays in Ventura County.  The City of Camarillo will be hosting a fireworks show at 9:00 pm at the Camarillo Premium Outlets; last entry into the parking lot area will be at 8:45 pm.

It is also illegal to sell fireworks, of any type, within the City of Camarillo.  Anyone with information about the illegal sale or trade of fireworks may email the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail at [email protected].  Tips can also be made through Ventura County Crime Stoppers.

Illegal fireworks usage can be reported by calling the non-emergency phone line of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center at (805) 654-9511.  Callers may remain anonymous.   The Camarillo Police Department will have additional units working on July 4th to ensure the safety of our community.
