INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

INVOLVED PARTY (1): 35-year-old Female, Resident of Joshua Tree
INVOLVED VEHICLE (1): 2009 Dodge Durango
INVOLVED PARTY (2): 45-year-old Male, Resident of Victorville (Deceased)
INVOLVED VEHICLE (2): 2007 Harley Davidson
SUMMARY: On Friday, June 17, 2022, at about 10:26 a.m., deputies from the Hesperia Station and emergency personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision, involving an SUV and a motorcycle. The crash occurred in the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Hesperia Road, in the Hesperia.
Through preliminary investigation, it appears the motorcycle rider traveled east on Bear Valley Road and the SUV driver traveled west on Bear Valley Road, intending to turn south onto Hesperia Road. The SUV driver turned left against a red arrow and drove directly into the path of the motorcycle, causing a broadside collision. Despite lifesaving efforts by emergency medical personnel, the motorcycle rider succumbed to his injuries on scene and was pronounced deceased.
An investigator from the Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is handling the traffic collision investigation. It does not appear drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in this crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact Deputy D. Holland or Sergeant B.
