On Friday, June 17, 2022, at approximately 1352 hours, the Middle Township Police Department responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle crash in the 800 block of Hand Avenue in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township.  Upon officer’s arrival they discovered the vehicle had overturned and the driver was entrapped inside.  Cape May Court House Fire Department were able to extricate the driver, Anita Stenger (76) of Avalon.  She was then transported to Cape Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.  The initial investigation reveals the vehicle was traveling west on Hand Avenue, when the vehicle slowly crossed the center line and then the eastbound lane prior to making contact with a tree causing the vehicle to roll over.  Also assisting were the Goshen Fire Department, Green Creek Fire Department, Rio Grande Fire Department, Inspira Ambulance Services, Atlantic Care Paramedics, and the Middle Township Crash Team.
