On June 19, 2022, at about 2:57 am, the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to an injury vehicle traffic collision which occurred on Wendy Drive near Peppermint Place. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a fully engulfed vehicle fire. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. The initial investigation revealed the vehicle was travelling southbound on Wendy Drive when it left the road and collided with a tree on the west side of Wendy Drive north of Peppermint Place. The identity of the deceased is under investigation and pending notification of next of kin by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau.
