Narrative:  
On June 21, 2022, at about 1:55am, the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to an injury vehicle traffic collision on Westlake Boulevard near Cloverleaf Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a fully engulfed vehicle fire. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire personnel.
 
The initial investigation revealed the vehicle was travelling northbound on Westlake Boulevard when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree in the center median. The identity of the deceased is under investigation and pending notification of next of kin by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau. Anyone who witnessed or has any additional information about the collision is encouraged to contact Deputy Andres Trujillo at (805) 947-8272.
