Lafayette Residents June 23rd and 24th there may be smoke in the area due to prescribed fires and training.
 
Prescribed Fire and Firefighter Training - June 23, 2022, 10am and 4pm south side of the Campolindo Ridge in Moraga.
Moraga Orinda Fire District will be conducting a prescribed fire project tomorrow, June 23rd, on the south side of the Campolindo Ridge in Moraga. Operations will occur between 10am and 4pm and be visible in the 200 block of Rheem Blvd. Again, MOFD has undertaken this project to provide training for local firefighters, help restore native grasses to the area, and aid in fuel mitigation. This project will be conducted under specific weather conditions to ensure the fire remains within expected perimeter lines at all times. Safety is the number one priority! If burning conditions change, projects will be terminated and rescheduled. 

If you are a resident of one of these projects, you may see or smell smoke. Closing exterior doors and windows will help to keep smoke from entering homes.
 
On Friday, June 24, 2022 the Moraga Orinda Fire District will be conducting a prescribed fire project near Bear Ridge Road and Bear Creek Road in Orinda.

Operations will occur between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.    Smoke from the project may be visible from El Toyonal and Sleepy Hollow.
This project is part of the maintenance program for the North Orinda Shaded Fuel Break and will help restore native plants to the area and aide in wildfire fuels mitigation. This project is being conducted in cooperation with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District under specific weather conditions to reduce smoke impacts and ensure the fire remains within the planned perimeter. Safety is the number one priority! If conditions change, the project will be rescheduled.
Residents in the area may see or smell smoke. Closing exterior doors and windows will help to keep smoke from entering homes.
