Coronavirus (COVID-19) Eight Hundred Thirty-Eighth Update Thursday, June 23, 2022

Albany County’s COVID-19 Dashboard reported today that there were 66 new positive cases overnight in the County, which raised the County’s COVID-19 cumulative pandemic total to 74,124 positive cases.  The County’s seven-day average of new daily positive cases increased from 50.4 to 52.0 cases.  The number of County residents in the hospital overnight with COVID-19 decreased by one to now 26 patients, with three patients in the ICU.  The County reported another COVID-19 death overnight that raised the County’s pandemic death toll to 569 residents.  In his Friday update, the County Executive will provide details about the deaths of two County residents since his Tuesday update. 
 
State DOH reported today that the County’s rate for one vaccine dose as of yesterday was 81.6% of the County’s total population and 92.3% of the adult population, and the County’s rate for full-vaccination was 74.6% of the total population, and for boosters was 61.7% of the eligible population.  The State’s rate for one dose was 90.9% for the total population and 95.0% of adults, and the State’s rate for full-vaccination was 77.6% for the total population, and for boosters was 53.8% of the eligible population. 
 
The State’s COVID-19 website reported that yesterday’s results for 136,575 tests Statewide were 6,277 or 4.0% positive, with the seven-day average decreasing to 4.7%.  The Capital Region had 3,378 tests of which 199 or 6.0% were positive, with the seven-day average increasing to 6.4%.  The County had 712 tests of which 43 or 6.3% were positive, with the seven-day average increasing to 6.9%.
 
In a press release today, Governor Kathy Hochul stated that the State’s positive rate for COVID-19 tests was 3.97%.  Other overnight data including COVID-19 related hospitalizations (1,813, +3), new admissions (319), ICU patients (198, -8), intubated patients (79, -7), and deaths (22).
 
On Wednesday, June 29, the Albany Pine Bush Preserve is hosting its first "Nature Night Out" that will allow participants to enjoy the Preserve on a summer evening.  The same event will be held on Friday July 22 and Friday August 12.  You can enjoy live music and food from vendors, and experience a StoryWalk adventure along the trail.  The Discovery Center will remain open until 7:30pm.
