The Camarillo Police Department will be hosting two special Kid Print and Person at Risk Print events during the upcoming summer break. The “Walk in Wednesday” events will be conducted on Wednesday, June 29th, and Wednesday, July 27th. These will begin at 1:00 PM and end at approximately 4:00 PM, in the community room of the Camarillo Police Department.
The Camarillo Citizen Patrol volunteers conduct the "Kid Print" child fingerprinting and identification events in the Police Station's community room monthly. Parents/Guardians may bring children to have their fingerprints, photograph and essential information digitally recorded and printed on a two-sided vinyl card. The Kid Print card will allow parents the security of having a current picture, essential personal information and a readable fingerprint available in the event the child is lost or abducted.
Camarillo Police are now able to offer “Person at Risk” cards at this event too. Anyone who has been affected by a severe brain injury, suffers from Alzheimer’s or dementia, has developmental disabilities or is generally considered “at risk”, may receive two cards similar to those issued from the Kid Print program. This card will include all of the individual’s personal information, diagnosis, care giver’s information, special details regarding the individual’s tendencies and a recent photo.
The Camarillo Police Department offers this service free of charge and will conduct the event on the last Wednesday of each month, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Camarillo Police Department. These programs are conducted by volunteers with the Citizen Patrol and are generously sponsored by the City of Camarillo and the Camarillo Police Department. This event is open to everyone and appointments are not needed. It is recommended that children and any person at risk have their personal information, pictures and cards updated at least once per year.
