IMPD Homicide Detectives Arrest Alleged Suspect for Role in Early June Homicide

INDIANAPOLIS-Today with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Office, IMPD Homicide Detectives arrested 43-year-old Eddie Muex Jr. for his alleged involvement in the death of 31-year-old Terryus Thomas. 

On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, just after noon, IMPD East District officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of E. New York Street on a report of a disturbance. Officers arrived and located an adult male outside who sustained injuries consistent with a stab wound(s). Officers on the scene provided medical aid. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital, listed in critical condition. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the victim was unfortunately pronounced deceased.
 
IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence. While on the scene detectives were able to identify Muex as a person of interest subsequently detectives detained, questioned, and released Muex pending further investigation.
 
Homicide detectives continued their investigation and presented this case to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO). On June 15, 2022 murder charges were filed on Muex by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO). Today with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Task Force Mr. Muex was taken into custody without incident.
