A second arrest has been made in this shooting death. Today, Amarillo PD officers arrested a male, age 16, for the charge of Tampering with Evidence, and he was booked into the Youth Center of the High Plains. The age of the male victim in this shooting is 13.

On Wednesday June 22, 2022, at 1:32pm, Amarillo Police were dispatched on a 911 call to a home in the 700 block of S Jefferson. When officers arrived, they found a male juvenile deceased from a gunshot wound. Several witnesses were interviewed by detectives. As a result of the investigation, one male juvenile, age 16, was arrested. The juvenile suspect was charged with manslaughter and booked into the Youth Center of the High Plains. The Amarillo Police Homicide Unit is investigating this incident.
