Enjoying the 4th of July Celebration
As we approach the celebration of our Nation's Independence, the Police Department would like to encourage the safe and responsible discharge of "safe and sane" fireworks within our community.
Safe and Sane Fireworks are only permitted to be sold and discharged from noon on June 28 through midnight on July 4. Use of Safe and Sane fireworks outside of this time period is prohibited by City Ordinance. Firework devices not displaying the “Safe and Sane” symbol are unlawful to possess.
The City Ordinance allows Police to cite owners, occupants and other persons at or on the property where fireworks are being discharged illegally.
The department will have extra officers working to address the discharge of illegal fireworks, and the safety concerns that arise from it.
