Update to Earlier Weekend Traffic Advisory: Soccer Match at Stanford Postponed for this Weekend
Due to the ongoing power outage at Stanford University, the soccer match originally scheduled for this Saturday night at Stanford Stadium has been postponed until September 24. We'll put out another traffic advisory a few days before, so you don't get stuck in game traffic.
For more info from the San Jose Earthquakes on the postponement, visit https://www.sjearthquakes.com/news/news-california-clasico-rescheduled-following-power-outage-at-stanford-universit.
Original Nixle message below for reference:
On Saturday, June 25, a sellout crowd of 50,000 will be attending the “CaliClasico” MLS soccer match at Stanford Stadium, featuring the San Jose Earthquakes and the L.A. Galaxy. Expect heavy traffic on Embarcadero Road, El Camino Real, and Sand Hill Road beginning mid-afternoon. Kickoff is at 7 pm.
Please note that as in years past at this same event, there will also be a fireworks show at the end of the game, likely around 9:15 p.m. Please do not call 9-1-1 to report the fireworks; these calls tie up our phone lines and can negatively impact our ability to answer actual emergency and priority calls. Our public safety dispatchers thank you in advance.
