Sheriff's Office investigating afternoon shootings in Burton and Seabrook; two people wounded 
At approximately 2:00 today, June 24, 2022, Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Possum Hill Rd. in Burton to a report of a gunshot victim.
The victim, an adult male, was found in the road. He had been shot one time. It is believed the subjects shot from a vehicle and left the scene.
The wounded man was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
There is no description of the vehicle or subjects involved the Burton shooting.
A second shooting occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Vidalia Rd. in Seabrook. Deputies responded and are on scene.
In the Seabrook shooting one person was wounded. There is no update on that person's condition or the identity of the subject.
Anyone who has information on either of today's shootings is urged to contact Sheriff's Office Dispatch at 843-524-2777 or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111, if wishing to remain anonymous and for possible reward.
The scenes of both shootings are secure. There does not appear to be a public safety threat.
