Paramount, Calif. – On Friday, June 24, 2022, three (3) drivers were arrested for DUI at a DUI checkpoint.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Paramount Boulevard and All America City Way, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Two (2) drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 171 vehicles were contacted. 1 driver was additionally charged for possession of narcotics and another driver additionally charged with driving a vehicle not equipped with an Ignition Interlock Device as required.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
