Victorville Police Explorer Scouts Bring Home 1st Place Overall in National Competition Held in Las Vegas

SUMMARY: On June 11-12, 2022, the Sheriff’s Explorer Scouts-Post 502 from the Victorville Police Department competed in the national ExCon competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 2022 ExCon Competition hosted 26 teams from around the nation competing in 8 separate events. Competitors were scored on the following criteria: working as a team, decision-making skills, observation and recall skills, communication techniques, basic patrol tactics, general police procedures, use of contact and cover concepts, and overall officer safety techniques.
Victorville Post 502 Explorers earned 1st place overall, and top placement in the following categories:
1st Place: Officer Needs Assistance
1st Place: Burglary in Progress
2nd Place: CSI
3rd Place: Exigent Entry
The Victorville Police Department is extremely proud of how Explorer Post 502 represented not only our department, but the city we serve. Our explorers remain a top-notch group of dedicated young individuals achieving excellence as Sheriff’s Explorer Scouts.
