This message is to provide advance notice for expected road closures and traffic delays on July 4^th. The City of Pleasant Hill will be celebrating the 4^th of July with a 5k run and parade in the morning and a fireworks display in the evening. Please expect significant traffic delays during both events.

Road closures will begin at approximately 6 am for the 5k run and parade, and normal traffic will resume around 12 pm. Crescent Dr and Crescent Plz will be closed to vehicular traffic. Other intersections that will be affected by closures/detours/lane changes are: Boyd Rd between Contra Costa Blvd and Cleaveland Rd, Cleaveland Rd between Boyd Rd and Gregory Ln, Woodsworth Ln/Cleaveland Rd between Contra Costa Blvd and Gregory Ln, Gregory Ln between S. Cody Ln and Contra Costa Blvd, SB Contra Costa Blvd between Gregory Ln and Crescent Dr, and all of Trelany Rd will be closed.

The fireworks event will be held at College Park High School commencing at approximately 9:20 pm. Road closures/detours can be expected at least 30 minutes before and after the event. Viking Dr will be closed to traffic between Norse Dr and Ruth Dr before and after the event. Other intersections that will be affected by detours/lane changes are: Taylor Blvd at Civic Dr, Taylor Blvd at Norse Dr, Taylor Blvd at Mercury Way, Norse Dr at Civic Dr, Norse Dr at Viking Dr, Viking Dr at Morello Ave, and Viking Dr at Ruth Dr.

Following the fireworks display, the fallout zone will be closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic until cleared by the Fire Inspector. We expect normal traffic to resume around 11 pm.
