On June 21, 2022, at about 1:55am, the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to an injury vehicle traffic collision on Westlake Boulevard near Cloverleaf Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a fully engulfed vehicle fire. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire personnel. The next of kin notification has been made by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office. The decedent has been identified as 26-year-old Thousand Oaks resident, Tyler Sauvageau.
