Independence Day Celebration Scheduled For July 1st, 2022
South Brunswick Mayor Charlie Carley and members of the South Brunswick Township Council have announced this year’s Independence Day Celebration, which will take place Friday, July 1st from 6pm to 10pm on the fields of Crossroads South Middle School. The school is located on the corner of Major Road and Kingston Lane. The program begins at 6pm and the fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9pm. This free event will have music, food vendors, and fireworks.
The event is one of the largest annual township sponsored gatherings. South Brunswick Police are advising residents that there will be increased traffic in and around the school and surrounding neighborhoods. The streets off Major Road, Kingston Lane, and Georges Road will have increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Officers will be stationed in and around the event to assist with traffic issues.
There will be no parking allowed on Major Road near the school. Police anticipate the greatest volume of traffic between 7:30pm and 10pm. The primary location for parking will be Crossroads South Middle School parking lots off Kingston Lane. There will be limited general parking at the Crossroads North parking lots off Georges Road. Additional parking will be at the South Brunswick Public Library and the Municipal Complex.
