Sachse residents are reminded that the City of Sachse explicitly prohibits the sale or use of any fireworks within city limits.

Use or possession of fireworks is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500.00 plus Court cost. Dallas County is also under a burn ban as well. Officers will be enforcing violations, so don't take a chance!

Fireworks include devices that make a visible or loud noise when set off. The City’s ordinance specifically outlaws possession and use of sparklers, skyrockets, and firecrackers.

Most firework burn injuries involve children. These are usually burning to the hands and eyes causing vision injury and disfiguring scars. Sparklers are the biggest danger to children. Sparklers burn at 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit and account for roughly one-quarter of emergency room fireworks injuries, according to the National Fire Prevention Association.
