The Montcalm Township Clerk, JESSICA CAROLYN SHEARER, 35 years of age, was arraigned today on forgery of a public document after turning herself in at the Montcalm County courthouse.
A complaint was filed in April by the Montcalm County Clerks Office alledging that SHEARER had fraudulently signed and dated a Montcalm Township Election Commission resolution. The resolution had not been voted on or approved by either the Township Board or the Township Election Committee. The resolution was intended to split the township into two voting districts and move the polling locations.
SHEARER has been released on bond pending further court action.
