On July 7, 2022, detectives with the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) arrested three suspects for organized retail theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of fraudulent documents. On July 7, 2022, deputies with the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) were in the area of the 100 block of West Hillcrest Drive conducting an investigation. During this investigation, deputies observed a vehicle known to them to have been used in past criminal conduct. Deputies observed three subjects associated with that vehicle enter Nordstrom Rack, located in the 100 block of West Hillcrest Drive and exit a short time later. Deputies observed the suspects run out of the business as a theft alarm sounded. Deputies followed the subjects as they drove away from the business while they simultaneously attempted to confirm a theft had occurred. A short time later, deputies were able to confirm the subjects had stolen merchandise from Nordstrom Rack. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and arrested (S) Maximo Gustavo Alfonso Bravo Velasquez, (S) Francisco Javier Guzman Osorio, and (S) Roberto Ignacio Rojas Solis for the theft. Deputies later confirmed all three suspects were Chilean Nationals who entered the United States through the Visa Waiver Program. Bravo Velasquez and Guzman Osorio were found to be in possession of fraudulent government documents. During a subsequent search of their vehicle, deputies recovered approximately $5300 in merchandise that had been stolen from Nordstrom Rack. Deputies also recovered burglary tools in the vehicle. During a subsequent investigation, deputies learned these suspects were likely associated with several similar crimes in the Los Angeles area. Bravo Velasquez and Guzman Osorio were booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for organized retail theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of fraudulent government documents. Rojas Solis was booked into Pre-Trial Detention Facility for organized retail theft and possession of burglary tools. They are currently in custody with bail set at $250,000. |
