* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southwest Illinois, including the following counties, Madison and Saint Clair. Portions of east central Missouri, including the following county and independent city, Saint Louis and Saint Louis City.
* WHEN...Until 930 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 727 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... St. Louis, Florissant, Belleville, University City, Granite City, Maryland Heights, East St. Louis, Hazelwood, Collinsville, Edwardsville, Ferguson, Creve Coeur, Fairview Heights, Overland, Clayton, Cahokia, Jennings, St. Ann, Glen Carbon and Bridgeton.
* AFFECTED AREAS: MADISON, IL ... ST. CLAIR, IL ... ST. LOUIS, MO ... ST. LOUIS CITY, MO
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
