On July 10, 2022, at approximately 0803 hours, an SVPD Officer attempted to contact a subject in the area of Royal Avenue and Sawyer Avenue. The subject ran from the Officer and a short foot pursuit ensued. The Officer was able to catch the subject and put him on the ground. While on the ground and attempting to handcuff the subject, the subject continued to resist arrest. A second SVPD Officer arrived and the subject was placed in handcuffs and arrested.
 
The subject sustained minor injuries during the apprehension and was treated at a local hospital and released. 
 
The suspect was identified as Simi Valley resident Dakota Engle, 25 years old.  Mr. Engle was transported and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail for an outstanding felony warrant and resisting an officer.
