Pursuit Through Streets of Needles and into Arizona Ends in Arrest of Two Arizona Men
DATE/TIME: July 10, 2022, at approximately 1:09 p.m.
INCIDENT: Reckless Evading & Transportation of a Controlled Substance
LOCATION: North K St and Smokestack Dr., Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Kyle King, 28-Years-Old, Male resident of Bullhead City, AZ
Johnny Harrel, 33-Years-Old, Male resident of Mohave Valley, AZ
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, July 10, 2022, at approximately 1:09 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the area of North K Street and Smokestack Dr. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield and lead deputies on a pursuit through residential streets of Needles and into Arizona. The pursuit terminated approximately 6 miles east of the Needles bridge when two subjects fled from the vehicle. Deputies were able to apprehend the suspects, Kyle King and passenger Johnny Harrell, after a short foot pursuit. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and packaging materials.
Kyle King was arrested for CVC 2800.2(A) - Reckless Evading and HS 11379 - Transporting/Etc. Controlled Substance. King was also found to have an outstanding fugitive warrant out of Bullhead City, AZ. King was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking, and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with no bail.
Johnny Harrell was arrested for PC 148(A)(1) - Obstructing/Resisting Arrest and was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Victorville for VC12500(A) - Driving Without a License. Harrell was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Harrell was later issued a citation and released from custody with a future court date.
