Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Partners with City of Asbury Park Social Services to Bring HOPE One Mobile Substance Abuse Outreach Vehicle to Asbury Park

7/11/22, Asbury Park, NJ – The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the City of Asbury Park’s Department of Social Services, Asbury Park Police Department and Preferred Behavioral Health Group’s Support Team for Addiction Recovery (STAR), is bringing the HOPE One mobile substance abuse outreach vehicle to engage with Asbury Park residents locally. The mobile vehicle aims to connect those who have a substance abuse issue, and might otherwise not know how to seek treatment, with needed assistance. Staffed with professional recovery specialists from Preferred Behavioral Health’s STAR program, along with Asbury Park Social Services staff, the HOPE One vehicle is scheduled to be in Asbury Park from 4pm-7pm on July 11 and 20, August 8 and 22 and September 12 and 26 and will initially be located on Springwood Avenue near Atkins Avenue.

“The City of Asbury Park’s Social Services Department has been working with Preferred Behavioral Health Group’s STAR team to provide behavioral health services to our clients,” said City of Asbury Park Social Services Director Doug Schultz, “We are pleased to be able make their services, along with other treatment options, more accessible with the help of Monmouth County’s HOPE One outreach vehicle. Being able to bring these services to clients that may not otherwise take the first step towards addiction treatment is an invaluable step in their road to recovery.”

“We’re thankful to Sheriff Shaun Golden and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department for bringing the HOPE One mobile outreach vehicle to Asbury Park and making the health and wellbeing of our community a priority,” said Mayor John Moor, “The mobile unit will help connect residents with life-saving resources and help combat drug overdoses and deaths.”
