Attend the Hoboken CAPS forum on July 27 

The City of Hoboken's Public Safety Department will host its second CAPS (Community and Public Safety) forum on Wednesday, July 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Black Rail Coffee at 800 Jackson St. 

Representatives from the Hoboken Police Department, Hoboken Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management, and the Volunteer Ambulance Corp will give short presentations on trending issues, followed by a question-and-answer period. Complimentary coffee, beverages, pastries, and snacks will be served.

All members of the community can come hear from Hoboken Police Chief Steve Aguiar and evening commander Captain John Petrosino discuss E-Bike laws and enforcement, as well as enhanced patrols at Mama Johnson Field and the Hoboken Housing Authority. Residents will also learn about new pumps and generators the Hoboken Fire Department has acquired to assist in flood response from Fire Chief Anton Peskens and Training Coordinator Battalion Chief Audra Carter. OEM Deputy Coordinator Joseph Cahill will discuss flood planning and responses for the hurricane season as well as an update on Hoboken’s paving schedule. Hoboken EMS President Thomas Molta and lifetime Corps member Joe Zelasko will discuss protections and responses for weather emergencies such as lightening, torrential rains, and extreme winds.
