* At 546 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Columbia, or 18 miles northeast of Easton, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and ping pong ball size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
* Locations impacted include... Hackettstown, Blairstown, Hope, Andover, Great Meadows-Vienna, Allamuchy-Panther Valley, Greendell, Long Valley, Columbia, Beatyestown, Budd Lake, Portland and Beattyestown. This includes Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 3 and 24.
