Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 7/12/22 at 1622 hours, the Cass County Sheriff's Office was called to investigate a personal injury traffic crash that occurred on M-51 Hwy near Burmax Park, Wayne Township, Cass County, Michigan. 

46-year-old Decatur, MI resident, Timothy Turner was traveling north bound on M-51 when a vehicle in front of him driven by Anthony Sauceda 41-year-old from Hartford, MI and his occupants, Kali Sauceda 34-years-old, and Roman Sauceda 2-years-old were slowing down for a vehicle turning in front of them. Turner was unable to slow down and ran into the back of Sauceda's vehicle. Mr. Turner was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Turner was not wearing a helmet.  Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

This case remains under investigation. Assisting were Wayne Township Fire Department, Dowagiac Fire Department, Pokagon Tribal Police and Pride Care Ambulance.
