DETAILS:  Ptl. Crawford was detailed to LensCrafters for a shoplifting. Employees reported that a male with a thin build, wearing a mask and hooded sweatshirt, entered the store, grabbed six pairs of Versace designer sunglasses valued at $1,768.00 and ran out of store.
     *Det. Erkoboni conducted the follow-up investigation to this shoplifting. Through her investigation, she was able to identify the shoplifter as Arthur Rogers. Rogers was charged and has a date pending with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Wegmans for a shoplifter being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation found that while shopping, Kathleen Dolci had placed groceries and merchandise into reusable shopping bags she had brought with her. She then went to the self-checkout and paid for a small amount of the items she had in her bags, but failed to pay $368.65 for the rest of it. Dolci was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Patrol was advised of a red GMC pickup that was reportedly being driven erratically traveling south on U.S. Route 1. Ptl. Borup spotted the red GMC, caught up to it, and observed the vehicle swerving in the roadway. Ptl. Borup initiated a stop on the red GMC, and during the stop Christian Exley was determined to be DWI. His teenage son was a front seat passenger in the vehicle so he was also charged with endangering his welfare. Exley was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  On 6/21, the Postmaster reported that a clear plastic bottle covered in a glue like substance that had a long string tied to the top, was found inside a mailbox located outside of the main building. It is believed that the contraption was designed to “fish” mail out of the mailbox. According to the Postmaster, it did not appear that any mail had been stolen.

DETAILS: A female victim reported that on 6/22, she was shopping at HomeGoods with her purse in her shopping cart. While at the checkout, she realized that her wallet was missing. When she called to cancel her cards, she discovered that several fraudulent purchases had already been made on her credit/debit cards at Target, Lowes, and Walgreens.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Wegmans for a male that was believed to have used his cell phone to make an “upskirt” video recording of a female shopper. Investigation found that Rahean Leonard had followed the 59 year old female victim around the store, and when she was distracted, he placed his cell phone under her sundress to presumably record a video. Afterwards, he appeared to review what was on his phone and then left the store. Sgt. Brodowski #479 observed Leonard leaving the store, tried to get his attention, but he went into the Michaels Arts & Craft store. Sgt. Brodowski located and detained Leonard inside Michaels, and when he was asked to turn over his cell phone, it had already been reset to its original factory settings and no longer contained any data. Det. Barber #593 & Det. Erkoboni #5102 assisted with the investigation. Leonard was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to a crash involving two vehicles near the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Harrison St. Investigation found that a silver Fiat driven by Lisa Barlics struck the rear of a Chevrolet SUV that was stopped at a red light. Further investigation determined that Barlics was DWI. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and had to be towed. Barlics was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Wegmans for a shoplifter who was in the store and had reportedly been involved in several recent thefts. While officers were inside the store, Emiah Lewis pushed a shopping cart filled with groceries/merchandise (valued at $416.30) past all points of sale and began exiting the store when she was detained. During the investigation, it was determined that Lewis had also shoplifted from the store on 6/15 and 6/18. Lewis was processed at WWPD Headquarters and charged with all three shopliftings.

DETAILS: Ptl. A. Ventura and Ptl. C. Van Ness were detailed to the Community Park for a burglary to a motor vehicle. While on scene, three additional vehicle burglaries were reported to them. All the burglarized cars were parked near the softball fields where a tournament was being held. Two vehicles were unlocked, and the other two were locked but had their rear side windows smashed to gain entry. Purses, backpacks, and other items were stolen from inside the vehicles.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to the Home Depot for an employee who was being detained for theft. Investigation determined that Danquai Malden, who was employed as a cashier, removed $380.00 in cash from his register and put it into his pocket. Malden was found to have committed similar thefts on 6/24, 6/25, and 6/26, and was charged with three additional counts of theft. Malden was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates with Mercer County Superior Court.
