Suspect Wanted in Pomona Homicide 
DATE / TIME: Tuesday July 12, 2022 at 2204 hrs.
LOCATION: 1800 Blk. of San Bernardino Ave., Pomona, Ca.
CRIME: 187 PC – Murder
VICTIM: A female adult, Pomona resident (name withheld pending notification of next of kin)
SUSPECT: Darnel Dwight Haley, DOB 9/3/1959, Montclair resident.
UNIT: Investigative Services Division
INCIDENT #: 22-072437
NARRATIVE: On 7/12/2022, Officers with the Pomona Police Department responded to the 1800 block of San Bernardino Ave, Pomona after the report of a victim of a shooting at the location. Officers found a female victim down on the porch of a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers attempted life saving measures, but unfortunately the victim succumbed to her wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. One other female suffered minor injuries in the shooting.
The suspect in the shooting is believed to be the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Darnel Dwight Haley of Montclair. Detectives from the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Unit have responded to assume the investigation. The motive for the shooting is believed to be due to the recent break up between the victim and the suspect.
The suspect is known to drive a 2009 tan Kia Spectra with California license number 8JNH311. The suspect is considered Armed and Dangerous.
A Warrant for Murder has been issued for Haley’s arrest.
