As you may know the Governor of New Jersey recently mandated that all lead and galvanized water service lines (lines extending from the water main to the home) must be replaced by the responsible utility over the next 10 years.  In the coming weeks and months many residents will see markouts of buried utilities in the roadway and along the curbline.  These are being done to facilitte the digging of test holes (usually inside the curbline, not in the roadway) to verify the material type of a given line if unknown by New Jersey American Water Company.  Montana Contruction is the contractor for NJAW and will be conducting the test holes and any work associated with line replacement.
