UPDATE: Darnel Dwight Haley was located deceased inside his vehicle by Rialto PD in the City of Rialto. The cause of death is still under investigation but at this time, Haley is believed to have died by suicide. No other information will be released at this time.

SUSPECT: Darnel Dwight Haley, 62, Montclair resident.

NARRATIVE: On July 12, 2022, Officers responded to the 1800 block of San Bernardino Ave. after the report of a victim of a shooting at the location. Officers found a female victim down on the porch of a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but unfortunately, the victim succumbed to her wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. One other female suffered minor injuries in the shooting.
The suspect in the shooting is believed to be the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Darnel Dwight Haley of Montclair. Detectives from the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Unit responded to assume the investigation. The motive for the shooting is believed to be due to the recent breakup between the victim and the suspect.
The suspect is known to drive a 2009 tan Kia Spectra with California license number 8JNH311. The suspect is considered Armed and Dangerous.
A Warrant for Murder has been issued for Haley’s arrest.
