The Petaluma Police Department Traffic Unit would like to remind the community that this Sunday, July 17th, 10 am-2 pm, Petaluma will be celebrating Ciclovia. Hosted by the City of Petaluma and Sonoma Bike Coalition, this fun event encourages community members to travel out on foot, bikes, skateboards, or scooters to get around town.
While we are excited that the public will be able to use the newly created bike and pathway infrastructure and enjoy activities along the way, we want to ensure that everyone is safe. To support traffic conditions for both the drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians, there will be street closures from 9 am to 2:30 pm on Petaluma Blvd from D street to East Washington Street, Water Street from Western to the Lynch Creek Trail, and Western Street from Kentucky to Petaluma Blvd.
For individuals not participating in Ciclovia, we encourage you to find alternative routes to your destinations to reduce delays in your arrival time. In addition, we kindly request that all drivers be especially cognizant of the rules of the road, traffic laws, and the increased cycle activity that may occur in your neighborhood. Thank you for increasing public safety with us.
