Advisory

Gas Main Replacement

Starting Monday, July 18th gas mains within the Borough of Englishtown will start to be replaced. This project will run Monday through Friday from 7am to 4pm until its completion which is projected to be sometime in October 2022.

The project will be starting on Main Street (CR 527) just south of the intersection of Tennent Avenue (CR 522). The project will go north on Main to Tennent and then proceed east on Tennent to McDonald Way.

After this section is completed there will be multiple other locations that will be affected. We will advise through this platform when the project progresses to other areas of the borough.

At this time we do not have enough information to pass along on how this project will impact traffic in the borough. Traffic will either be open to all traffic with construction vehicles off to the side, one lane closed with flaggers alternating traffic or closed to all traffic with detours posted.

At this time it is recommended that you start to plan now to avoid possible delays. Give yourself extra time to traverse the borough or plan an altrernate route.

We will attempt to keep you informed through this platform as much as possible.

Lastly and most importantly if you will be travelling through the work zone we ask that you slow down and pay attention for police, construction workers and their vehicles in the roadway. Remember that we all have familes that we want to return safely home to.
