On Thursday, July 14^th, 2022, at approximately 11:36 pm, an officer with the Petaluma Police Department was on routine patrol in the area of Motel 6 (1368 North McDowell Boulevard). The officer made contact with a male subject associated with a vehicle. The male subject was identified as Stephen Mills (45-year-old resident of Cazadero). During the contact with Mills, the officer developed cause to search Mills’ vehicle.
 
Officers conducted a search of Mills’ vehicle and his person which yield various narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The suspected narcotics located included the following: approximately one pound of psilocybin mushrooms, ecstasy, methamphetamine, and a large amount of marijuana that appeared to be packaged for sale. Mills was ultimately arrested on multiple charges which included possession of a controlled substance (mushrooms) for sale. Mills was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
