KENOSHA STREET HOMICIDE SUSPECT FORMALLY CHARGED

On Wednesday July 13, 2022 Jonathan Welch, a 23 year old Harper Woods resident, was arraigned and formally charged in 32-A District Court for the brutal homicides and assaults that occurred the evening of July 10, 2022 in the 20600 block of Kenosha Street.    

Defendant Welch has been charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder, four counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Second-Degree Arson, seven counts of Felonious Assault, and six counts of Felony Firearm.

Defendant Welch was remanded to the Wayne County Jail.  The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 20, 2022, at 1:30 p.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for July 27, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. before the Honorable Judge Rebekah Coleman of 32-A District Court.
