4 DUI arrests OVER THE Weekend, 2 involving collisions in Petaluma
On Sunday, at 1:46 AM, Eriberto Carreno-Gomez, 22 years old from Petaluma, was observed by an Officer driving with no lights on during darkness, on East Washington Street at Edith Street. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined he was impaired. Carreno-Gomez had a .14% BAC. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and later released on a citation to appear in court.
At 6:55 PM, Manuel Pablo Ortiz, 44 years old from Petaluma, was involved in a solo vehicle collision into a tree in the area of Magnolia Avenue and Elm Drive. Officers determined Ortiz to be DUI with a .24% BAC. He was arrested for DUI and his vehicle was towed. He was transported to County Jail.
On Monday, at 12:23 AM, Javier Reyes, 43 years old from Petaluma, was observed by an Officer almost collide into the center delineators on Keller Street. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined he was impaired. Reyes had a .14% BAC. He was arrested for DUI and later released on a citation to appear in court.
At 12:57 AM, Juan Antonio Gomez Amador, 27 years old from Petaluma, high centered his vehicle on the median on North McDowell Blvd and Old Redwood Highway. Gomez Amado admitted to driving and determined to be DUI with a .22% BAC. He was arrested for DUI and later released on a citation to appear in court.
Petaluma Police advise motorist to plan ahead if you’re going to go out and drink alcohol, designate a sober driver or share a ride. Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
