Combined Sewer Overflow Notice 
This message is to inform you that the rain events of of July 18, 2022
and July 19, 2022, resulted in many combined sewer overflows. These overflows sent over 17 million gallons of untreated wastewater into the Connecticut, Chicopee, and Mill Rivers.
While the release of untreated wastewater ended around 2 am this morning, Public Health officials recommend avoiding contact with these waterbodies for 48 hours after the discharge ceases due to increased health risks from bacteria and other pollutants. The discharge consists of rainwater and untreated sewage and waste. Activities to avoid include, but are not limited to, swimming, wading, fishing, kayaking and canoeing.
