Subject: Traffic Crash Osborn St. in Jefferson Twp, Cass County MI.  
 
Sheriff Richard J. Behkne reports on 07/18/2022 at approximately 1449 hours his office was called to investigate a two vehicle personal injury crash at the intersection of Osborn St and Robinson Rd., Cassopolis, Jefferson Twp., Cass County, Michigan.
The investigation shows that a 37 year old, Brandon McCall, from Cassopolis, was heading Northbound on Robinson Rd when he fell asleep at the wheel. McCall struck the side of another vehicle driven by William Westphal, 18 years of age, from Cassopolis, who was stopped at the stop sign on Robinson Rd. McCall's vehicle then accelerated in speed and crossed the intersection landing his vehicle in the yard across from Robinson Rd. McCall was transported to Dowagiac Borgess Lee for his injuries. Westphal denied any medical care on scene. Both parties were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.  Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash. This crash remains under investigation.
