Subject: Personal Injury Crash Union Rd. Cass County MI.
 
Sheriff Richard J. Behkne reports, on 07/18/2022 at approximately 0535 hours his office was called to investigate a three vehicle personal injury crash.   The crash occurred on Union Rd, in  Porter Township, Cass County, Michigan.  The investigation shows that 28-year-old Dominique Stauffer, of Elkhart, Indiana, was traveling eastbound on Union Rd coming to a curve, when Stauffer took his eyes off the road and drove his vehicle through the curve and onto the driveway striking 2-parked cars at that residence. Stauffer’s vehicle flipped over after striking the parked cars and came to rest on the hood of his car. Stauffer was transported to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained from the crash. It is unknown if Stauffer was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash. This crash remains under investigation.    Assisting agencies include SEPSA / Porter Fire and EMS and Edwardsburg Ambulance
