Riverside Man Who Burglarized Several Chino Hills Businesses Now in Custody

SUSPECT(S): Edgar Torres Garcia, 29 year-old male resident of Riverside
VICTIM(S): Chino Hills Businesses
SUMMARY: On Tuesday June 28, 2022, in the early morning hours, a Hispanic male adult forced entry into three businesses in Chino Hills and stole several items. Members of the Multi Enforcement Team (MET) and detectives worked closely to locate video surveillance which captured the suspect and his vehicle at each location. The suspect, identified as Edgar Torres Garcia, had a history of breaking into businesses and narcotic violations.
On July 17, 2022, officers from the Ontario Police Department (OPD) conducted a traffic stop and contacted Garcia. OPD officers learned of the burglary investigation conducted by Chino Hills personnel and detained Garcia for an interview. Following the interview, Garcia was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for three counts of PC 459 - Burglary and PC 496(A) - Possession of Stolen Property.
On July 18, 2022, MET and detectives served a search warrant at Garcia's residence and his vehicle. Detectives located evidence to support Garcia's involvement in the Chino Hills burglaries.
