Flood Advisory until 04:15AM Saturday

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Streams and rivers in the Anchorage Bowl including Chester Creek and Campbell Creek.

* WHEN...Until 415 AM AKDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Forecasted rainfall over the next 48 hours will cause significant rises in streams and rivers in the Anchorage Bowl. Minor flooding is expected along Chester Creek and low-lying and poor drainage areas. Many small streams may reach bankfull or minor flood levels periodically through Friday. There may be some localized urban flooding if drains become overloaded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 424 PM AKDT, river gauge reports indicate rises in water levels from heavy rain in the advisory area. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1.0 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen over the last 72 hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.25 inches are possible through Friday. - For Campbell Creek near Dimond: At 3:15pm the stage was 19.73 feet. Flood Stage is 20.5 feet. Impacts: At 22.0 feet: Flooding of bike path along Campbell Creek from Lake Otis to Victor/Dimond. For Chester Creek at Arctic Blvd: At 3:15pm the stage was 3.44 feet. Flood Stage is 4.0 feet. Impacts: At 4.0 feet: Portions of the Chester Creek Bike Path will get inundated, especially beneath the C St Bridge. - For flood safety information, please visit http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
