High Heat Expected Over the Next 5 Days - Cooling Centers Open
The South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management is advising residents to limit their outdoor activity over the next several days as the heat index is expected to exceed 100 degrees.
Mayor Charlie Carley encouraged residents to use air-conditioned public buildings if they need a break from the high temperatures. “Staying indoors, drinking plenty of fluids, or using one of our community buildings with air conditioning will help us get through this high heat,” said Mayor Carley.
Here are buildings in the Township people can use to get cool –
South Brunswick Public Library - 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction
OPEN – Wednesday through Friday from 10 am to 9 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm.
South Brunswick Senior Center - 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction
OPEN – Weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
The lobby of the Police Department may be used for cooling purposes after the Library is closed.
