The National Weather Service in Morristown has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Eastern Cherokee County in southwestern North Carolina... Clay County in southwestern North Carolina...

* Until 300 AM EDT.

* At 120 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 6 and 7 inches of rain have fallen over the last 3 hours. Additionally, law enforcement reports several structures underwater as well as people having to be rescued on NC 141 along Vengeance Creek just south of Marble. Flash flooding is ongoing. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Andrews, Murphy, Hayesville, Tusquitee, Marble, Topton and Shooting Creek.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CHEROKEE, NC ... CLAY, NC

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
