Narrative:
On July 21, 2022, detectives with the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) arrested (S) Arturo Rodriguez for assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse.

On June 25, 2022, deputies with the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to an apartment complex located in the 800 block of Warwick Avenue in the city of Thousand Oaks regarding an assault with a deadly weapon that had just occurred.  Upon their arrival, patrol deputies learned a group of four juveniles had arrived at the complex and became involved in a verbal altercation with two juveniles who lived at the complex.  During the altercation, an adult suspect, who was associated with the original four juveniles, armed himself with a machete and used it to strike a fifteen-year-old juvenile multiple times.  The adult suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle along with the original four juveniles.

Detectives with the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) conducted a follow-up investigation and identified the adult suspect as (S) Arturo Rodriguez.  On July 21, 2022, SEU detectives contacted Rodriguez after he left his residence and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon and felony child abuse, since the victim of the crime was fifteen years old.  SEU detectives then served a search warrant at his residence and seized evidence linking Rodriguez to the crime.

Rodriguez was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for the previously listed violations with bail set at $60,000.
