The Nordstrom Asset Protection Agent provided a written statement that indicated a suspect carrying a large orange reusable bag entered the store. The suspect quickly selected sunglasses, went to the women’s shoe department, placed multiple Coach sandals inside three shoe boxes, and concealed them in his orange bag. The stolen merchandise was valued at approximately $1,200. The suspect walked towards the exit door, bypassing all registers. The suspect was then stopped and apprehended between the first and second set of exit doors by Asset Protection Agents. After obtaining the suspect’s true identity, it was found he had nine outstanding warrants. The suspect, a 35-year-old San Francisco transient, was arrested and booked into jail for grand theft, impersonation, possession of a controlled narcotic substance, and the warrants.

There was one robbery during the past week.

On Friday, 07-15-22, at approximately 3:00 a.m., a 23-year-old Colma resident stated that when she was on the 7400 block of Mission Street, an unknown suspect approached her from behind and pulled her backward by her hoodie. The suspect grabbed the victim’s purse. The victim resisted and held onto her purse. The suspect then punched the victim in the right eye twice, which caused the eye to lose vision and bleed. The victim tried to fight back, but the suspect grew more aggressive and punched the victim multiple times in her ribs. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect continued to punch her in the ribs, which caused bruising. As the victim fell, both lost control of the purse. The victim’s wallet fell out of the purse. The suspect grabbed the victim’s purse, containing perfume and a work ID, valued at approximately $45, and ran northbound on Mission Street towards West Market Street. The victim described the suspect as a muscular, heavyset Samoan male in his twenties with black-colored eyes, approximately 5’9”, and wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, and black ski mask. Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try!  www.nextdoor.com
