Yucaipa Deputy Conducts Traffic Stop and Finds a Loaded Firearm in Vehicle; Suspect Taken into Custody

SUSPECT(S): Jesse Vasquez, 35-year-old resident of Redlands
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, July 20, 2022, around 2:00 am, Deputy Ziemer conducted a traffic stop on a silver sedan for vehicle code violations. Ziemer contacted the driver, Jesse Vasquez, who was on active Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) Probation.
During a vehicle check, Ziemer located a 9mm Ruger LC9 semi-automatic pistol under the driver's seat. The firearm had a full magazine of live ammunition and a live round was chambered. The firearm was reported stolen out of Kern County in September of 2020. Vasquez is a convicted felon and is probhibited from possessing any firearm and ammunition. Vasquez was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center on multiple felony charges.
