Borough of Leonia - Boil Water Advisory Still in Effect - Updated Information
Neighbors:
At 10:24 PM this evening I received communication from representatives of Veolia regarding the boil water advisory, as follows:
The boil water advisory remains in effect. New water samples will be collected on Saturday morning, for testing by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection & Energy. The EARLIEST that the boil water advisory MIGHT be lifted would be Sunday afternoon.
All residents are urged to continue to boil water for a minimum of one minute if that water is to be consumed either by humans or by pets. It is NOT necessary to boil water used for bathing, laundry or washing dishes.
Veolia does NOT recommend the use of water filters during the boil water advisory period; they will not be effective.
The municipalities impacted by the current boil water advisory are as follows: Cliffside Park, Edgewater, Fairview, Fort Lee, Leonia, Palisades Park and Ridgefield.
We will continue to advise Leonia residents regarding this situation as additional information is provided from Veolia. You can also check for updates directly on the Veolia website at
